Kissed by a Dolphin

Being kissed by an Australian sea lion, neophoca cinerea, an endangered species was a very interesting experience. So was being kissed by a dolphin! Two kisses in the same day by two different sea mammals.
The feel against my skin of the dolphin’s rostrum or snout, however, was very different from the feel of the sea lion’s nose. While the sea lion’s nose was unbelievably soft, the dolphin’s rostrum felt more like soft, smooth rubber. Thank you, Susan Magaitis, for introducing me to Dolphin Marine Magic and to these lovely mammals—up close and personal.
