Wagon Wheel Illusion

Have you noticed the “wagon wheel illusion", in which the wheels of a forward-moving vehicle appear to slow down or even roll backwards? Reportedly, the illusion was first noted during the playback of old films. Dr. David Eagleman at Baylor College of Medicine is studying how the brain processes time.
