Kindness and Serotonin
Have you
done something "kind" lately, maybe a random act of kindness? Studies
have shown that a simple act of kindness directed toward another improves
function of the immune system and stimulates the production of serotonin in
both the person who did the act of kindness and in the recipient. Persons
overseeing the act of kindness experience similar beneficial results. Serotonin
is a naturally occurring substance in the brain and body. It helps you to feel
peaceful and more comfortable. What an easy way to get a shot of serotonin!
