Ever since New Year’s
all night party, I have had a headache. I can live with it, but medication just
takes the edge off it. To say I am tired of it is an understatement. Any ideas?
Oh, my, goodness! A headache
for over 2 months? Something is not right here. One of the first, signs of
dehydration—you have not been drinking enough water on a daily basis to power
your brain function—is a headache. How much pure clean water do you drink every
day? Forget the old “drink 8 glasses a day.” Your brain’s need for water, it’s
most important energy source, can vary based on the weather, the temperature in
your home, what you are wearing, what you are doing, and so on. If I were doing
this, I would drink a glass of water every hour of the day for at least two
days (unless you are water-restricted). Yes, you will have to visit the porcelain throne more often, but
hopefully that will completely hydrate your brain. If the headache does not let
up, there may be more going on than dehydration so I would get yourself to the
doctor’s toute suite and get checked out. Problems with the brain are best not
avoided . . . More tomorrow.
