Siblings: How different are they, 7
Forgiveness is choice to resist an unforgiving
stance and to let go of bitterness, grudges, resentment, and revenge. It is not
always easy, but it is relatively simple. The emotion of anger generates energy
to take action. Forgiving is an action. Dr. Bita Yadidi has pointed out that
the act of forgiving allows that trapped anger energy (e.g., muscle tension) to
be discharged and released from cells in the brain and body. She has also
pointed out that people make decisions about what happened to them, why it
happened, and who is to blame. It’s human nature. People also come to
conclusions, that may be accurate or inaccurate—and often act on them—sometimes
with very unfortunately consequences.
